The dream behind your meal

Every plate served at ManaVindhu carries more than food. It carries the dream of a mother, the sacrifices of a family, and the determination of a woman who refused to give up.

A dream, and a reason to wait

In 2016, Naga Lakshmi Dwarapureddi had a dream: to become an exceptional chef, and one day open a restaurant where families could eat food made with honesty, tradition and care.

At the time she was also the mother of a three-year-old boy. Her days were full of caring for her child, cooking for her family and carrying the endless work of motherhood.

Her dream had to wait. It never disappeared.

The promise she made

In 2018, Lakshmi and her husband welcomed their second baby boy. Holding her newborn, she asked herself one question: Am I moving farther away from my dream?

Then she made herself a promise. Twenty days after giving birth, she took her first step into a professional kitchen and began working as a chef at Panda Express.

That was the true beginning of her journey.

Distance may take you far from home. My food brings home back to you.

One kitchen at a time

For the next several years her alarm rang at 5 a.m. She made breakfast for her family, cared for her children and dropped them at school. While they were in class she worked, roughly 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in restaurant kitchens: McDonald’s, Panera Bread, Panda Express and Bawarchi.

Every kitchen taught her something: discipline, speed, consistency, teamwork, flavor, and the importance of serving every customer with care.

Her working day did not end when she left the restaurant. She picked up her children, drove them to their activities, came home, cooked dinner, looked after her family, and got ready to do it again the next day.

What those years taught us about food

In those kitchens she saw wonderful dishes and talented chefs. She also saw real flavor replaced by artificial colors, additives and shortcuts.

That experience settled something for us: fresh ingredients, real spices, traditional methods, patience and care are enough to make honest food that people remember. It became one of the foundations of ManaVindhu.

Good Indian food does not need artificial colors or MSG.

A new beginning

By 2024, Lakshmi knew it was time to take the biggest step of her life. After more than ten years in Omaha, Nebraska, she and her husband left the life they had built and moved their family to Atlanta.

They arrived with no guarantee of success, only a dream, years of experience, faith, and a willingness to work hard. They waited almost another year, through delays, uncertainty, financial pressure and a lot of unexpected trouble.

But the woman who had protected her dream for almost a decade was not going to stop there.

And finally, ManaVindhu was born.

Food made with a mother’s care

ManaVindhu is not simply a business. It is Lakshmi’s promise to every family that walks through the door.

She believes every meal deserves the same care, whether it is going to a five-year-old, a parent between shifts, or an eighty-year-old grandparent. We do not use artificial ingredients to make flavor. We let fresh ingredients, carefully chosen spices, patient cooking and the hands of our chefs make it.

Your voice is part of our journey

We are always glad when you tell us what you enjoyed. We want to hear the other half too: where we can do better. If something did not meet your expectations, tell us. If you have an idea, a request or a suggestion, put it in our suggestion box or say it to us when you visit.

We promise to listen with an open heart.

ManaVindhu was built out of passion, not only for profit. We believe that if we look after our guests, serve honest food and keep getting better, success will come in its own time. Our aim is to help build a healthier next generation, one meal and one family at a time.

Dreams do not expire

Some dreams simply need more patience, more sacrifice and more courage before they come true.

Thank you for becoming part of our story. We hope you enjoy your meal, leave happy, and come back as part of the ManaVindhu family.

Eat well. Live happily. Stay healthy.

With gratitude,
